Following on from a sensational 2024, where she soared up the ITF rankings, won three junior ITF titles, represented Australia in the Junior Billie Jean King Cup team, and was awarded Tennis Victoria’s Junior Female Athlete of the Year, Ava Beck qualified for the Girls’ Singles event at the Australian Open.
The opening round was played on Showcourt 3, with a contingent of Bundoora Tennis Club and GP Tennis supporters in attendance. Coming up against a strong seeded opponent meant it was a tough debut.
Ava paired with Koharu Nishikawa in the doubles. As a wildcard entry playing against the number 3 seeds, the girls did exceptionally well, eventually going down 9-11 in the deciding tiebreak.
Bundoora Tennis Club wishes Ava all the best for her tennis endeavours in 2025!
