At the Bundoora Tennis Club 2023 Annual General Meeting, Life Membership was awarded to Bernadette Grindlay, a club member for forty-nine years and midweek ladies competition player and committee member over many seasons.
Since joining the General Committee in 2012 as the midweek ladies’ representative, Bernadette has done more than just be “the voice of the ladies”. She has been a regular over the past decade at working bees and at BBQs for Premier League and other open days, as well as being responsible for replenishing clubhouse supplies for many years.
Bernadette has been the Midweek competition organiser for BTC for the past eleven years and has been proactive in getting ladies from other clubs whose teams were folding to come to Bundoora, keeping two BTC teams going in a competition where numbers have dwindled.
Her contribution over many years, right up to this time of retirement from the Committee, makes her a worthy recipient of Life Membership at Bundoora Tennis Club.
